Emergency Room Sign Medical Malpractice Case

John German from Houston, Texas was just awarded $10 million in Medical Malpractice money from a jury verdict.

His lawsuit was filed by Texas Medical Malpractice Lawyers who represented him. The lawyers filed against doctors at the hospital German was treated at in 2002 for heart surgery to repair his malfunctioning heart valve.

German had to undergo a second surgery to repair the stitches after the initial operation, and then a third operation to implant an artificial valve.

Sadly, German developed the disease gangrene, a complication characterized by the decay of body tissues, after the operation because the doctors used the blood thinner Heparin.

The doctors at the hospital do not believe that they were in the wrong. They believe they lent adequate care and attention to German. However, the court felt otherwise. The hospital itself owes German $5 million and the doctors will owe the other $5 million.
