Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California recently fired three of the seven individuals appointed to the California Board of Registered Nursing. In addition, Schwarzenegger ordered a review of the board after a previous investigation revealed that on average it takes over three years to resolve Clinical Negligence complaints against nurses in the state.
The California Board of Registered Nurses regulates 350,000 of California’s registered nurses.
Schwarzenegger made a statement saying, “It is absolutely unacceptable that it takes years to investigate such outrageous allegations of misconduct against licensed health professionals whom the public rely on for their health and well-being.”
The changes and orders from Schwarzenegger are in order to lower the time it takes for Clinical Negligence complaints to be reviewed in the state of California.
